The Kaatza Station Museum and Archives, governed by the Kaatza Historical Society, is housed in the original Canadian Pacific train station, built in Lake Cowichan in 1913. Our goal is to preserve and interpret the history of the Cowichan Lake region. This includes many periphery communities, such as Honeymoon Bay, Mesachie Lake, and Youbou.

The museum and archives place special emphasis on the forest industry and its contributions to developing the modern settlement of Lake Cowichan, with the inclusion of stories and displays focused on the ethnic minorities that played a vital part in the surrounding communities.

The museum grounds include a variety of logging equipment and rolling stock such as a Shay steam locomotive and the restored structures of the Bell Tower School and part of the Mesachie Lake School. Plans are in progress to include additional displays with the involvement of the Ts'uubaa-asatx Nation.
